One of our favorite Corp of Engineer campgrounds is MODOC
on Thurmond Lake just north of Augusta, Georgia.
We managed to get 8 nights on site 29,
the best site in the park!!
Then we also got to spend time with Friends!!

Sunday afternoon, we enjoyed the beautiful day at our campsite.
We watched Clem teach Bruce how to throw a stick;o))
We also got to watch the local wildlife!!
Bruce and Laura had to head back to the real world on Monday.
They have their house for sale and with a little luck,
it will sell soon and they will join the full-timing ranks:o))
Thanks for visiting, it was a great weekend!!
As Bruce and Laura headed home,
we had other friends arrive at Modoc.
Both of these couples were volunteers at Modoc last year. Paul & Marti have returned to volunteer here again until January. Mike & Terri stopped on their way to a volunteer position in Florida.
It’s because of great volunteers like them, that we get to enjoy some beautiful places!!!
We managed to enjoy a couple visits, a beautiful sunset and a nice campfire:o))
Lucky Us… Meeting Friends Wherever We Go :o)))
It's always fun to meet up with friends! Looks like a nice campground!
ReplyDeleteBill and Nancy, you will always have friends nearby...we're honored to be your friends! Hope to see you in Florida this winter.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week you had. Glad to see Mike and Terri, it's been a long time. HINT Mike!! And Paul and Marti of course! I guess one of these days I'm going to have to break down and visit that park named after a I guy I SERIOUSLY disliked. :-) Thanks for the pictures of all your fun. Where are you off to now? Wonder if we'll ever find out where Mike and Terri will be? HA!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you all together, and what a treat to see Bruce & Laura as well. Of course we agree, what a lovely place :)
ReplyDeleteWe really enjoyed visiting with everyone, even though the time was very short. Hopefully we'll see many friends in Florida this winter...
ReplyDeleteIt was great to hang out with you both again, time well spent, even if we had to simulate a sunset... :c)
ReplyDeleteJust love it when our paths cross!
Great campsite... great friends... great sunset... priceless! One of these times, we are going to have to stay there for a while on our North-South travels.

ReplyDeleteThat is a seriously beautiful site! :) We just said good-bye to Bruce and Laura ourselves after a great weekend at Lake Powhatan. This is definitely your kind of park Nancy...and hiking trails galore!
ReplyDeleteOne of the great things about this lifestyle is the friends you meet along the way. Sure is fun to keep running into them :)
It was a great time with you all! Here's until the next time! We'll just pick up where we left off!
