Fabulous pictures. Love the falls that you can go behind. So cool. Also love those roots making a beautiful design on the trail. Wonder how the tree stays alive with so many roots exposed and being stepped on all the time. So sorry you had to go through Gatlinburg to get there. Are most of the trails a good distance from your campground?
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what we thought about the tree roots!!!
DeleteGoing through Gatlinburg is not a problem before 9am...after...you just do it;o(( Yes, it is a "longer than Acadia" ride to all the trails. Even if you stay in The Park (Elkmont, Smokemont or Cades Cove) you have a drive to the trails that don't start in the campground. If you are out early (6-7am) it is not bad and you can find parking at the trailhead. But with the high temps, we want to start early and end early!!! Wish it wasn't crowded and had lower temps... Still it is beautiful and glad we are getting to spend some extended time here:o))
