New Years is Coming!!

We had a wonderful Christmas in Raleigh, NC with 

Julie, Steve and our 4 grandchildren. 

  

My mother was able to join us as well!!!

The kids are growing up, but they still get excited on Christmas morning:o))

On our trip back to Huntington Beach, 

we stopped and had lunch with our son, Brian and his wife, Chris.  

Unfortunately, I left the camera in the car;o((  

But it was fun!!

As we approach the New Year Year,

Bill and I have landed at Gamble Rogers SP at Flagler Beach, FL.

We will spend the rest of the winter traveling around Florida.

We want to wish EVERYONE....

Been Awhile... All's Well - Saturday, October 10,  2015

The last time I posted, 

we had arrived at Narrows Too CG near Acadia National Park in Maine.

We had a fabulous time in Maine… just no time to blog.

We arrived back at Huntington Beach SP in Murrells Inlet on August 17th.

Our time there was spent visiting family and assisting my mother.

She has given up driving and that brings with it many issues.

It has not been easy for her, but she is doing well !!

We were still there when the rains and floods came.

Fortunately, we did not experience any real problems, 

but it did delay our trip south.

Finally on Wednesday, October 7th we headed to The Keys!!

We've  managed to snag almost 7 weeks of reservations

split between Bahia Honda SP and Curry Hammock SP.

So, right now, 

we are sitting in one of the most beautiful places we have ever been!!

Go fishing and CATCH fish right from our backyard!!

Fast Forward or Time to Catch Up – Monday, June 15, 2015

I had the best intentions to keep up with the blog this summer.  

However, that just isn’t going to happen.  

My last post was from our time at the 2015 RV-Dreams Family Reunion Rally 

in Marion, NC  over two weeks ago. 

Perhaps I will get back to filling in the blanks, I doubt it;o(( 

 However, I want all our family and friends to know where we are now and that 

ALL IS WELL !!!

7. Geneva State Park, Geneva, OH – overnight, June 3-4
8. Letchworth SP, Perry, NY – 7 nights, June 4-11
9. Arrowhead Marina & CG, Schenectady, NY – 2 nights, June 11-13
10. Black Bear CG, Salisbury, MA – overnight, June 13-14
11. Narrows Too RV Resort, Trenton, ME –  30 days, June 14-July14

We will be spending the next 30 days in Maine, exploring Acadia National Park.

Today, we got reacquainted with Acadia NP.

First stop, the visitor center to get our car pass and watch the movie.

Even early in the tourist season, there are crowds!!

However, the park is large enough that you don’t notice out on the trails:o))

Next, a ride around the loop road.  

We ended our day at the Summit of Cadillac Mountain!!!

Can’t wait to hit the trails :o)))

Friday, May 29th

 

Today’s hike was to Linville Falls just 20 miles north of our campground.

We had a much larger group today!!

We were the first visitors in the parking lot ;o))

We checked the map and headed toward the Upper Falls Overlook.

Next stop was Erwin’s View Overlook

 

We never did get to hike the Plunge Basin Hike.

As we were returning from Ervin’s Overlook, one of our group found a cell phone, water bottle and women’s hiking shirt on  the edge of the gorge!! They immediately went to the ranger station to report what they found. They were asked to stay until the authorities arrived. Any further hiking just wasn’t in the cards. Eventually, the owner was located and we were pleased to learn everyone was OK!!

As our truckload got ready to head back to the campground, Dan mentioned that Linn Cove Viaduct was just up the road.  He had scouted it out on his scooter a couple days ago.  Since we hadn’t eaten our packed lunches yet, we decided that might be a good place for lunch and headed north on the BRP instead of south toward the Rally Park.

Yep, good spot for lunch!!

After eating, we found the short trail through the boulder field under the Viaduct!!

    

Of course, we had to drive the viaduct before heading back to the campground :o))

   

Saturday, May 30th

Today was the last full day of the reunion rally.  We have had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and making new friends!!  Today, we hung around the campground just preparing to continue our summer travels and visiting with friends.  

The RV-Dreams Family is a SPECIAL GROUP!!!

The final event was a Hawaiian Luau… Wonderful FUN, FOOD and FRIENDS!!!
